Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is a key financial leader within the manufacturing facility, responsible for overseeing plant‑level accounting, cost management, and financial performance activities. This role ensures the accuracy of financial results, drives cost‑control initiatives, and partners closely with plant operations to optimize production efficiency and profitability.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Analysis

· Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing processes for the manufacturing plant.

· Prepare and analyze plant financial statements, production cost reports, and operational KPIs.

· Provide meaningful variance analysis related to materials, labor, overhead, scrap, and throughput.

· Support plant leadership with data‑driven insights that improve operational efficiency and reduce total manufacturing cost.

Budgeting & Forecasting

· Lead the plant’s annual operating budget and periodic forecasts.

· Execute weekly 13-week cash flow forecasts.

· Develop financial models for new business opportunities and capital investments.

· Communicate risks, opportunities, and recommendations to plant leadership.

Tax Accounting & Compliance

· Prepare and review plant-level tax support schedules.

· Collaborate on compliance for property tax, sales/use tax, and manufacturing exemptions.

· Track tax impacts of capital projects and inventory movements.

· Support tax audits with timely documentation.

Internal Controls & Audit Readiness

· Implement and monitor internal controls for key operational and accounting processes.

· Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate accounting policies.

· Serve as main contact for internal and external auditors.

Operational Partnership

· Collaborate with production, supply chain, engineering, and quality teams.

· Provide financial evaluations for capital expenditures, tooling, and process improvements.

· Support lean manufacturing activities and track results.

People Leadership

· Create a collaborative and engaging workplace.

· Direct people leadership over AR and AP functions.

· Develop accounting team member skills and build increased financial acumen among all plant leadership.

QualificationsRequired

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

· Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience in manufacturing and/or public accounting.

· Expertise in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing analysis.

· Strong understanding of GAAP and basic tax principles.

· Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

· Strong communication and analytical skills.

Preferred

· CPA, CMA, MBA, or similar certification.

· Experience in complex, vertically integrated manufacturing.

· Prior supervisory experience.

· Familiarity with lean manufacturing.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
