Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions to ensure safety and positive behavior management.
- Support children with daily routines such as diapering, toileting, and handwashing while maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Engage children through interactive activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and learning.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns to foster strong home-school relationships.
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and health and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for every child.
- Maintain classroom records, attendance logs, and activity documentation accurately and confidentially.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire), including pediatric first aid training.
- Familiarity with special education practices and experience working with children with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong classroom management skills coupled with the ability to supervise children effectively and compassionately.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, colleagues, and children alike.
- Ability to follow safety procedures diligently, including mandated reporting laws related to child welfare.
