Cherryland Middle School is seeking a motivated, passionate, engaged, and dedicated 6th-grade math teacher for the 2026-27 school year and beyond. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Establish a classroom structure that values positive relationships through intentional implementation of the district curriculum and the vision of high-quality instruction. ? Establish a classroom culture that supports the non-academic needs of all students in order to remove barriers that interfere with academic success. ? Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. ? Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons and instructional materials that facilitate active learning. ? Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment. ? Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction. ? Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students, provide appropriate feedback on work, and use information to adjust teaching strategies according to student needs. ? Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development. ? Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs. Cherryland Middle School Priorities: ? Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Math (EX or EQ) endorsement for grades 6-8 ? Completion of an approved teacher preparation program ? Bachelor’s degree in Math ? Passing score on the MTTC math exam ? Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging standards-based instruction Preferred: ? Additional certifications ? Prior experience as an educator ?
