Salary: $18.00 - $19.00 per hourSalary: $18.00 - $19.00(Also includes some Park District Facility/Program Usage Benefits)Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2:00pm - 6:00pm and Wednesday 1:00pm - 6:00pm****Position available at District 59 Ridge SchoolJOB SUMMARYUnder the direct supervision of the Youth Manager, the Kids Club Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing day to day activities along with supervising staff and overall site operations in the Kids Club program.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSSupervise children ranging from Kindergarten through 5th grades.Create monthly lesson plans that include theme days, special crafts and other activities.Maintain a commitment to the development of each childs self-esteem by providing a safe, fun and nurturing environment through age appropriate activities, crafts and games.Document accurate attendance, sign in/outs, and take the necessary steps to check on absent children.Maintain an appropriate staff to child ratio.Collect all required forms prior to childs participation.Utilize and complete all required internal documentation. Supervise daily staff performance and conduct a final performance evaluation for all Kids Club counselors.Effectively communicate information regarding Kids Club policies to participants.Delegate responsibilities to other staff as needed.Keep open communication between staff, children, and parents.Communicate any concerns to the Youth Manager regarding staff and/or participants.Stimulate good relationships with other sites to promote a fun team atmosphere.Keep an accurate time sheet with hours worked.Attend all monthly staff meetings and other required training and events that are scheduled after normal working hours.Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONSResponsible for giving the Youth Manger a monthly supply order and staying within a site specific budget.Monitor site mailbox at Pavilion office and check at least once a week for communication, new registrants or flyersAssist in working the School Days Off Program on additional days that school is not scheduled.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAt least 21 years of age and/or at least two years Before and After School experience.Valid CPR, First Aid, and AED (Pediatric and Adult) Certifications.Know developmentally appropriate activities for the age of the childrenAbility to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.Effective leadership skills.Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Minimum two years experience working in a childcare setting.Elk Grove Park District is an Equal Opportunity EmployerSummary of Benefits
