The Facilities Management Department at Elizabethtown College is currently seeking a Mechanical Trades Technician. The primary purpose of this position is to provide safe, comfortable, and efficient maintenance and operation of the Carpentry, Painting, Heating, Ventilating, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and electrical systems throughout Elizabethtown College.
*Mechanical Trades Technicians are periodically required to be on call (24/7) to respond to calls for service

Job Duties
- Maintain boilers, controls, piping, pumps, and related equipment
- Prepare all boilers for summer inspection and accompany a state/insurance inspector on his/her rounds
- Maintain piping and insulation for heating and cooling related equipment, including piping associated with the hot water system, campus fountains, and irrigation systems
- Maintain ventilation, exhaust, and air conditioning systems
- Maintain and repair irrigation system (including water lines) and back flow prevention equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment; repair or replace equipment as needed
- Maintain and monitor equipment service and inventory records
- Test and maintain boiler and water treatment
- Install replace light fixtures, and electrical breakers under supervision of Lead Electrician
- Maintain appropriate quantities of supplies and repair parts; investigate and locate parts needed; order parts and supplies as needed
- Perform electrical maintenance and installation on HVAC equipment
- Perform repairs to appliances such as refrigerators, microwaves and stoves
- Perform Carpentry and Painting duties as assigned
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of four years experience in mechanical, plumbing, heating, electrical, or related technical area; or equivalent combination of education and experience
This position requires a valid driver’s license for business travel purposes and to drive campus vehicles (individual must have a US driver’s license for at least three years).
