What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor of Actuarial Science position at Elizabethtown College and Careers?
Elizabethtown College's School of Business seeks a motivated and experienced Assistant Professor of Actuarial Science (tenure-track, full-time, 9-month) within our Actuarial Science Program at our campus in Elizabethtown, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in the academic field. Specific duties include: (i) advising undergraduate students in the Actuarial Science major; (ii) collaborating with the Mathematical Science and Business faculty on continued development of a well-established and successful Actuarial Science program; (iii) collaborating on the development and administration of assessments of student learning outcomes and program effectiveness; (iv) engaging in professional development activities to increase teaching effectiveness and remain current in the field of Actuarial Science; and (v) contributing to the growth of the major and overall success of the School of Business.
Must have a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, or a directly related academic discipline.
Must be an Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (ASA or FSA), or be in the final stages of achieving such status/have passed all required exams for ASA or FSA designation.
