Job description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to join our accounting team. This entry-level accounting position is responsible for processing accounts payable transactions, managing customer refunds, maintaining financial records, performing bookkeeping activities, and supporting daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payment of vendors.
- Review, verify, and process customer refunds and related documentation.
- Perform bookkeeping functions, including recording financial transactions and maintaining accounting records.
- Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting files and supporting documentation.
- Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payments and account balances.
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets as requested.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
- Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Finance Department.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (3) years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or related experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with accounting software.
- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Experience in a multi-entity or service-based organization.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
