Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Assist dentist during various procedures including examinations, prophies, restorations, and extractions with precision and care.
- Take dental X-rays using digital imaging technology while adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) in Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance by handling instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clean, sterile environment throughout treatments.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions regarding procedures or treatment plans.
- Support administrative duties including scheduling appointments and answering phone calls.
Skills
- Proficiency with dental software systems especially Eaglesoft, for managing patient data and medical records.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control procedures, aseptic techniques.
- Experience with digital imaging techniques.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry procedures to support comprehensive patient care, from infants to young adults.
