Elizabeth Johns is seeking an experienced Alterations Specialist to join our dedicated team!
This individual will work closely with clients to assess alteration needs and must be experienced with high-end bridal fabrics and couture construction.
Role Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with bridal and eveningwear gowns; alterations experience preferred but sampling experience will be considered
- Strong technical knowledge of high-end gown construction and handling of delicate fabrics
- Exceptional sewing skills and knowledge of bustle types
- Dedicated to delivering quality craftsmanship with an eye for details
- Experience working directly with clients and comfortable communicating the alteration process
- Solution-oriented to address client's goals and concerns
- Ability to carry bridal and eveningwear gowns up to 10lbs and comfortable with stairs
- Strong time management skills to handle workload, meet deadlines, and work efficiently
- Must have a positive "can-do" attitude with clients and work well in a team environment
- Comfortable operating industrial sewing machines
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct bridal and evening wear fittings at our Morristown location
- Execute all aspects of garment alterations, including bust, waist, hips, hemlines, and bustles
- Perform machine and hand sewing, draping, cutting, bustling, and pressing
- Ensure gowns are completed on time for each client appointment and the quality meets, or exceeds, our standards
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the alteration process, including handling service concerns, minor repairs, and urgent alteration requests when needed
- Review weekly appointment schedule and properly prepare for each fitting
- Support the store by helping with repairs of samples when needed
