Role Description As a Sales Manager at Elizabeth Destination Marketing Organization, you will lead efforts to attract group tours, meetings, and leisure travelers to Elizabeth, NJ. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Elizabeth, NJ. You will identify and cultivate relationships with tour operators, travel agents, meeting planners, and corporate and association partners, proactively prospecting new business and managing a pipeline of leads. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting sales calls and presentations, attending tradeshows and networking events, preparing proposals and group itineraries, and negotiating agreements that drive visitor volume and revenue. You will collaborate closely with marketing and partner businesses (hotels, attractions, restaurants, transportation providers) to create compelling packages, track performance metrics, and report on sales activities and market trends. The role also involves maintaining accurate CRM records, preparing sales forecasts, and representing the organization as an ambassador for the city’s tourism offerings.

Qualifications
- Proven skills in sales, account management, and business development, with the ability to build and sustain long-term client relationships.
- Experience in tourism, hospitality, destination marketing, or related fields, preferably working with group tours, travel trade, or meetings and events.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, including pipeline management, CRM usage, and accurate reporting of sales activities.
- Comfort with digital tools and platforms, including email marketing, online meeting tools, and social media for business outreach.
- Ability to work on-site, travel locally and regionally as needed for sales calls, tradeshows, and events, and occasionally work outside standard business hours.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Knowledge of the Elizabeth, NJ area and regional tourism assets is highly beneficial; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
