Counselor for victims of sexual assault
The Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center is seeking applicants for a full-time position.
The Sexual assault crisis counselor will be responsible for providing individual counseling and support to victims of sexual assault.
Responsibilities will include conducting initial contact with potential clients, providing available services and scheduling and managing appointments. Services will include individual counseling and support group. Will also work with community partners to bring awareness of services to the community and to identify victims and their need and readiness for counseling.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position has an understanding of the dynamics of sexual assault, interpersonal violence and related issues. Preferably, the candidate will have extensive background in working with victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and their families. The candidate will have knowledge and experience in trauma-informed care and the ability to work with adults and teens from a variety of backgrounds.
Hours: 35 hours per week. Schedule to be determined.

Qualifications:
Preferred Master’s degree in counseling or bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.
A minimum of three years’ experience working with victims of Sexual assault and interpersonal violence including diverse people and groups.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to victims of sexual assault and interpersonal violence issues and an expressed commitment to the empowerment of victims and survivors of sexual assault and interpersonal violence.
3 to 5 years work experience in related field
