Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide a caring environment that ensures the personal, nutritional and emotional needs of our residents are met. Flexible hours, positive work environment, paid time off.
Duties
- Meet with PCA from previous shift to discuss issues regarding the residents or the facility.
- Provide shower assistance for residents.
- Document services performed during their shift in the daily log and add any additional information in the communication log.
- Encourage socialization of residents.
- Complete resident laundry as indicated on the daily scheduled laundry.
- Respond to the emergency bell/resident call bell.
- Summon emergency personnel when required and report any incidents to the Director of Resident Care and/or Administrator.
- Deliver 7pm snack prepared by the diet-aide to residents.
- Ensure the safety of the Resident Kardex files during fire drills and/or actual emergencies.
- Report on any facility issues to maintenance.
- Attend required Inservice trainings as required by the State of CT DPH.
- Other duties as requested or required.
Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- First Aid Training, preferred but not required
- Medication Administration Certification
