What are the responsibilities and job description for the MicroLab Experience Lead position at Elixium Health?
DTC MicroLab Lead - Patient Experience & Diagnostics
Elixium Health | Denver Tech Center, CO | Full-Time
Read This First
This is not a “show up and follow a script” job.
You will be walking into a MicroLab that is being built in real time. Some systems exist. Some don’t yet. That’s intentional.
If you’re the type of person who gets uncomfortable without everything mapped out, this will frustrate you.
If you’re the type of person who sees gaps and fills them, you’ll thrive here.
About Elixium Health
Elixium Health is a preventative, labs-first healthcare company built to challenge rushed, transactional medicine.
We don’t sell quick fixes.
We don’t push pre-set bundles.
We don’t treat diagnostics like a commodity.
Our MicroLab is the front door to the entire Elixium experience, and we’re hiring someone to help define what that experience should be.
The Role
The DTC MicroLab Lead owns the day-to-day operation, flow, and patient experience of our diagnostics lab.
This role blends:
- Clinical precision
- High-end customer service
- Operational ownership
You are not “just drawing blood.”
You are setting the tone for how patients experience preventative care.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Patient Experience (This Comes First)
- Creating a calm, unrushed, confidence-building experience from the moment a patient walks in
- Explaining what we’re testing and why it matters in a way patients actually understand
- Anticipating questions, anxiety, and friction, and solving for them before they appear
- Making sure patients leave feeling informed, respected, and taken care of
Diagnostics & Clinical Execution
- Performing high-quality venipuncture and specimen collection
- Processing, labeling, and handling samples with precision
- Maintaining accuracy, cleanliness, and clinical excellence at all times
- Ensuring compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and internal SOPs
Building & Improving Systems
- Executing existing workflows, and improving them when they don’t make sense
- Identifying inefficiencies, breakdowns, or patient friction points
- Helping refine how the MicroLab scales without losing the human element
- Providing real feedback to leadership on what works and what doesn’t
Ownership & Collaboration
- Acting as the on-site point of accountability for the MicroLab
- Working closely with providers, Patient Care Specialists, and HQ
- Treating the MicroLab like it’s yours to protect and improve
Qualifications Required
- Strong venipuncture skills with diverse patient populations
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfort using digital systems (EHR's, portals, lab platforms, CRM's)
- Professional, calm, confident bedside manner
Preferred (Not Required)
- Phlebotomy certification or equivalent hands-on clinical experience
- Experience in preventative, functional, or diagnostic-focused healthcare
- Background in hospitality, fitness, or high-touch customer service
- Operations, leadership, or process-improvement experience
- Interest in healthcare innovation and building something new
How We Hire (Important)
Along with your resume, you’ll be asked:
“Tell us about a time you walked into a role, system, or project that wasn’t fully built.
What was missing, what did you do, and what improved because of you?”
This matters more than your résumé.
Compensation & Growth
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Consistent full-time schedule
- Clear growth path as Elixium expands MicroLabs and diagnostics nationally
- Opportunity to move into MicroLab Manager or Regional Ops roles
Final Note
If you believe:
- How care starts matters
- Patients deserve clarity, not confusion
- Systems should serve people, not the other way around
We want to meet you.
