Elite Workforce is seeking a full-time Procurement Assistant to support the Procurement Manager within our Industrial/Construction I&E department in Houma, Louisiana.
This position will provide day-to-day administrative and procurement support to help ensure materials, equipment, purchase orders, vendor information, and related documentation are accurately processed and tracked. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working in Microsoft Excel, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This is initially a temporary position expected to last approximately 2–3 months, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position based on departmental needs and job performance.
Responsibilities
Assist the Procurement Manager with daily purchasing and procurement activities.
Prepare, process, and track purchase orders and related documentation.
Maintain and update procurement spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel.
Assist with obtaining and organizing vendor quotes and pricing information.
Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, order status, and delivery information.
Track materials, equipment, and orders to help ensure project needs and deadlines are met.
Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and supporting documentation.
Assist with reviewing purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, and other procurement documents for accuracy.
Follow up on outstanding orders and communicate updates as needed.
Assist with material and equipment coordination for Industrial/Construction I&E projects.
Perform data entry and maintain organized electronic and/or paper files.
Communicate with project personnel, accounting, vendors, and other departments as needed.
Provide general administrative support to the Procurement Manager.
Perform additional procurement and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work comfortably with spreadsheets and data.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
General proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, data entry, and electronic documentation.
Ability to communicate professionally with vendors, coworkers, and management.
Dependable and able to work independently while supporting a team.
Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
