What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Training and Performance Specialist position at Elite Wellness Performance and Recovery?
We’re seeking a knowledgeable and passionate professional with expertise in exercise physiology, strength & conditioning, and recovery modalities. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable coaching athletes through high-performance training sessions, guiding general population clients through safe and effective exercise programs, delivering recovery services such as assisted stretching, soft tissue work, and mobility sessions, and administering specialized assessments such as VO₂ max and resting metabolic rate tests—with the ability to analyze and clearly explain the results to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct performance, movement, and metabolic assessments (including VO₂ max and resting metabolic rate testing) to create individualized training and nutrition-related recommendations.
- Deliver safe and effective exercise instruction for a wide range of clients (youth, athletes, adults, rehab populations).
- Provide recovery and regeneration services, including mobility programming, stretching, percussion therapy, compression therapy, and other modalities.
- Track and analyze client progress using relevant performance metrics and tools.
- Collaborate with the Elite Wellness team to ensure a seamless client experience from training through recovery.
- Educate clients on exercise techniques, injury prevention, recovery best practices, and the implications of metabolic and aerobic capacity testing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field (required for Exercise Physiologist title).
- Certification from NSCA (CSCS), ACSM (Exercise Physiologist).
- Experience in both performance training and recovery modalities preferred.
- Strong understanding of biomechanics, periodization, corrective exercise, and metabolic testing protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate complex assessment data into actionable client insights.
- CPR/AED certification.
