Elite Welding Academy is seeking an experienced Structural Welding Instructor to join our Testing & Training Division in West Chester, Ohio.
Since 2006, Elite Welding Academy has been a leader in welding education, testing, and workforce development. As an AWS Accredited Test Facility (ATF), NCCER Accredited Training Sponsor, and Assessment Center, we provide customized welding training, certifications, and employer-driven workforce solutions throughout the region.
This position is responsible for delivering high-quality structural welding instruction to employer-sponsored trainees and incumbent workers through customized workforce training programs. The instructor will work directly with business and industry partners, including River City Correctional Center (RCCC), to ensure participants develop the welding knowledge and skills employers require while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
Essential Job Duties
- Deliver hands-on structural welding instruction in accordance with customer training requirements and Elite Welding Academy standards.
- Demonstrate proper welding techniques, equipment operation, and safe work practices.
- Evaluate participant welding performance and provide constructive coaching to improve skill development.
- Administer welding performance tests and practical assessments as required by customer specifications.
- Maintain accurate attendance, training records, skill evaluations, and required program documentation.
- Prepare daily lesson plans and training materials based on customer scope of work.
- Ensure all training activities comply with OSHA, AWS, and company safety standards.
- Inspect and maintain welding equipment and training materials, reporting maintenance needs promptly.
- Coordinate with the Director of Testing & Training regarding schedules, customer needs, training progress, and equipment requirements.
- Communicate professionally with customer representatives and maintain positive working relationships.
- Support AWS qualification testing and other certification activities when assigned.
- Assist with welding demonstrations, employer training events, and customized workforce development projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional training environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, instructor development, and continuing education to maintain industry certifications and instructional effectiveness.
- Travel to customer locations as needed to conduct onsite training.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of structural welding experience (required)
- Previous welding instruction or training experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and structural welding practices
- Ability to read welding symbols, blueprints, and welding procedure specifications (WPS)
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Ability to work independently and professionally with customers
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Pass Drug Screen
