HR Coordinator / Generalist
Introduction:
Elite Technical is seeking a HR Coordinator/Generalist to support our client in Melville NY (Long Island). We are seeking a well-rounded HR professional who has experience supporting core HR functions including payroll, employee relations, benefits administration, HR systems, and process improvements. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in a dynamic, high-growth environment and is comfortable balancing strategic thinking with execution.
Responsibilities:
- Provide payrolling duties including Payroll Register Audit and Review
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and basic HR guidance
- Assist with addressing employee relations issues, escalations, and policy interpretation
- Support HR initiatives and ensure compliance with employment laws and firm policies
- Assist with HR communications, announcements, and policy updates
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records
- Manage HR systems, databases, and reporting to ensure data integrity
- Support benefits administration, insurance enrollment, and attendance tracking
- Prepare HR reports, spreadsheets, and documentation as needed
- Time and Attendance entry
Requirements:
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of general HR support within a company size of 200 employees. Law firm or professional services experience preferred
- Must be comfortable overhearing sensitive legal case matter subject conversations
- Must have STRONG payroll experience/knowledge via Paychex or similar platform. Must have processed daily or weekly payroll as a primary duty
- Strong understanding of employee Healthcare benefits
- Understands Federal and State laws and regulations governing Payroll
- Must have Strong knowledge of Federal and NY employment laws and regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; experience with HRIS/ATS systems a plus
Salary : $70,000 - $73,000
