JOB TITLE: Estimator
REPORTS TO: Chief Estimator
General Summary:
Elite Private Landscape is seeking to hire an experienced Construction Estimator to work within a team environment and prepare accurate (masonry, Irrigation, landscape, site furnishings, and concrete) estimates for our projects throughout California. The ideal candidate should have strong construction work experience (2 plus years) building crew-based proposals. The ideal candidate should also have excellent analytical and numerical skills. Previous work experience with large scale construction a plus.
Core Areas of Responsibility:
- Responsible to understand the project or program scope and its requirements.
- Performing quantity take-offs from
- Responsible to read and understand project specifications as well as bidding requirements
- Responsible for determining key variables for cost and other estimates.
- Responsible to research information on up-coming jobs for bidding purposes
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Has general knowledge of landscape construction operations.
- Excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset.
- Effective listening skills to understand the scope and expectations of tasks to be performed.
- Have a positive attitude when faced with challenges.
- Work in an organized and proactive manner.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively both, independently and as part of a team (team oriented)
- Effective and professional communication skills; verbal and written
- Detail oriented, able to multi-task and flexible
- Experience using Blue Beam or other take-off software a plus.

- Coordinate bid calendar
- Pre-bid meetings
- Bid bond for prime bids
Education and Experience: At least a High School Diploma or GED required and a minimum of 2 years’ experience estimating in the construction industry and/or a related field.
