What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at Elite Sourcing?
Our client is a well-established commercial general contractor specializing in large-scale projects of $10 million and above across the medical, retail, K-12, and higher education sectors. They are seeking an experienced estimator to join their team and play a key role in the bidding and preconstruction process.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for medical, retail, K-12, and higher education construction projects.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project scope to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate pricing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to secure pricing.
- Identify potential risks and cost-saving opportunities in project planning.
- Present estimates and proposals to senior leadership and clients as needed.
- Stay up to date material costs, and industry regulations.
Qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in estimating for commercial construction projects.
- Proven track record of estimating on projects in medical, retail, K-12, multifamily or higher education.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
