Job Overview
As a Security Guard, you’ll help protect people, property, and facilities through attentive surveillance, visible patrols, and calm, professional service. You’ll monitor CCTV (closed-circuit television), operate access control systems, and respond to incidents in line with site procedures and security regulations. This role may involve standing, walking, and manual handling, including heavy lifting.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas, monitor CCTV, and use access control systems to help prevent unauthorized entry.
- Provide customer service, observe and report safety or security concerns, and complete clear incident reports.
- Follow emergency response procedures; use conflict de-escalation and conflict management to support safe resolutions.
- Your impact: Prompt reporting and a measured response help protect visitors and staff while supporting a safer site.
- Assist with background checks when assigned and within applicable procedures.
Qualifications
- Required: Strong observation, communication, and customer service skills; ability to follow instructions and comply with security regulations.
- Preferred: Security, physical security, surveillance, patrolling, or access control experience; experience in law enforcement or military service is also valued.
- First aid and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) knowledge, AED (automated external defibrillator) operation, and emergency response experience are helpful.
- Taser or firearm handling experience may be relevant where authorized and legally permitted; follow all applicable laws and site policies.
- Able to perform manual handling and heavy lifting as required.
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
