Overview
Join our team as an Asphalt Maintenance Laborer. This role offers the opportunity to work for a small, locally owned business based out of Cameron, WI and specializing in asphalt maintenance. The right candidate will possess a strong work ethic and the ability to work outdoors in a variety of different locations and environments. On the job training will be provided to help you learn to operate small engine equipment such as backpack blowers, weed whips, and power brooms. We also provide on the job training to help you learn how to apply maintenance materials such as hot rubberized crack filler and asphalt sealant.
Duties
- Assist in loading and preparing trucks at the beginning of each day.
- Drive to and from various job sites towing various trailers or units of equipment.
- Perform job-site clean-up tasks including debris removal, sweeping, and organizing tools and materials.
- Operate equipment such as blowers, weed whips, and power brooms (the right candidate may even be able to operate asphalt routers, rollers, plate packer, etc.)
- Assist in maintenance activities such as applying hot rubberized crack filler.
- Assist in maintenance activities such as applying asphalt sealant.
- Assist in the setup of traffic control devices, if needed.
Requirements
- Ability to show up on time.
- Ability to work varying hours each day.
- Ability to work overtime, if needed.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable.
- Must be able to drive pickup truck(s) of varying sizes while towing trailer(s) of varying sizes.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand for long periods of time, lift heavy materials, and perform manual tasks throughout the day.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various environments for long periods of time.
- Experience in the asphalt industry is a plus, but not a requirement.
Other Information
- Wage starts at $18/hour but may increase based on reliability and ability to learn and perform duties as assigned.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
