Job Title: Staff Accountant
Full Time - In-person role
Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This position reports to the Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and adjustments.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review internal financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Audit Support: Support external and internal audits by providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and systems.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate payments and collections.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role. **Add something about construction accounting would be nice to have.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Service Titan or similar a plus
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (GAAP or IFRS).
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
