Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and route planning.
- Handle various types of cargo including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tanker liquids, and freight requiring special securement methods such as roll-off or dump trucks.
- Ensure proper documentation for each shipment in accordance with hazardous materials regulations and FMCSA guidelines.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times, route changes, or cargo issues.
- Follow all safety protocols during load & unload procedures and when handling hazardous or dangerous goods to prevent accidents or violations.
- Perform routine truck maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
Experience
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving across diverse routes and cargo types.
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and different trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) safety standards.
- Experience in logistics cargo handling, load securing techniques, and freight documentation processes.
- Ability to operate GPS navigation systems confidently for route planning and adjustments.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving route driving with a focus on safety and efficiency is highly valued.
