About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations with a strong background in Department of Mental Health (DMH) Individualized Supported Living (ISL) services. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting organizational growth, and maintaining high-quality service delivery.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive experience managing DMH ISL programs, leading multidisciplinary teams, navigating audits and compliance requirements, and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide leadership and oversight to clinical and administrative teams.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
- Recruit, mentor, develop, and evaluate staff performance.
- Lead team meetings, performance initiatives, and succession planning efforts.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with all DMH, state, federal, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain readiness for audits, inspections, surveys, and accreditation reviews.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that support compliance standards.
- Oversee documentation practices and quality assurance activities.
Operational Management
- Direct day-to-day operations of ISL programs.
- Monitor operational performance, financial outcomes, and productivity metrics.
- Identify operational challenges and implement process improvements.
- Support budgeting, resource allocation, and organizational growth initiatives.
Quality Assurance
- Monitor service quality and program outcomes.
- Oversee corrective action plans and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure documentation standards are consistently maintained.
- Lead investigations, root cause analyses, and resolution strategies when needed.
Crisis & On-Call Support
- Participate in an on-call leadership rotation.
- Respond to operational, staffing, and client-related emergencies.
- Provide leadership during crisis situations and critical incidents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Human Services, or a related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Current professional licensure preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience within home health, behavioral health, or human services environments.
- Extensive experience with DMH Individualized Supported Living (ISL) programs.
- Strong understanding of DMH regulations, audits, compliance standards, and documentation requirements.
- Experience managing budgets, billing processes, and operational performance.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
Required Experience
Candidates must have:
- Direct Director-level experience overseeing DMH ISL services.
- Experience managing DMH audits, compliance activities, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of ISP, BSP, MAR documentation, medical and dental binders, and related compliance records.
- Experience managing DMH budgets and billing functions.
- A hands-on leadership style with active involvement in daily operations.
