As a Safety Specialist, you will work directly with field personnel, supervisors, and leadership to promote a culture where every employee goes home safely each day. What You'll Do
- Conduct field safety observations and jobsite audits on overhead distribution projects.
- Support crews, supervisors, and management in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.
- Promote compliance with OSHA regulations, utility standards, and company safety policies.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training sessions.
- Participate in incident investigations and help implement corrective actions.
- Assist in developing safety programs, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor PPE compliance, vehicle safety, and work zone protection.
- Support storm restoration operations and emergency response activities when required.
- Track and report safety metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Serve as a visible safety leader and trusted resource for employees in the field.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years of safety experience in utility construction, electric distribution, transmission, telecommunications, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and utility industry safety standards.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to build credibility and trust with field personnel.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout assigned service areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- CHST, ASP, CSP, or willingness to pursue professional certification
- Experience supporting overhead electric utility operations

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
