Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics Coordinator to manage daily transportation activities and ensure shipments are scheduled, tracked, and delivered efficiently. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can coordinate with customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments from pickup through delivery.
- Communicate with customers, carriers, drivers, and warehouses regarding shipment status.
- Track shipments and provide timely updates to customers.
- Confirm pickup and delivery appointments.
- Monitor shipments for delays, missed appointments, or other issues and resolve problems quickly.
- Obtain and maintain accurate shipment documentation, including bills of lading, rate confirmations, and proof of delivery.
- Enter and maintain shipment information in the company's TMS, CRM, and other systems.
- Coordinate with carriers to confirm equipment availability and pickup details.
- Assist with rate negotiations and carrier selection when needed.
- Verify freight charges and assist with billing and documentation.
- Maintain organized records of shipments and customer communications.
- Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Handle customer questions and transportation-related issues professionally.
- Follow company policies, safety requirements, and transportation regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, dispatch, or customer service preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable communicating by phone, email, and messaging platforms.
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or transportation management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of trucking, freight, and transportation terminology is a plus.
