Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including limousines, shuttle buses, or other commercial vehicles for transporting deceased individuals.
- Ensure respectful handling and transportation of bodies in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of assigned vehicles to ensure safety and reliability.
- Communicate effectively with funeral home staff, medical personnel, and family members when necessary, demonstrating professionalism and compassion.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary to load or unload bodies or equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation routes.
- Keep accurate records of transports, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in shuttle driving, delivery driver roles, bus driving, or limousine services is preferred.
- Experience in commercial driving or paratransit services is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics is advantageous.
- Demonstrated sensitivity and professionalism when handling sensitive situations involving deceased individuals.
