Job Summary
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, development, operating, and maintaining press brake machinery to bend, form, and shape metal components according to blueprints and specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards to ensure high-quality production.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form metal sheets and plates
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
- Select appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings
- Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications
- Adjust machine parameters to achieve accurate bends and tolerances
- Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Record production data and report any defects or issues
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years experience operating press brake or similar metal fabrication equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to read measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
- Knowledge of metal forming techniques and materials
- Basic math and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Familiarity with CNC press brakes a plus
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
- May require overtime or shift work
