Duties
The Spanish Interpreter will be responsible for facilitating communication between patients and medical professionals who speak different languages. This will involve:
- Providing accurate and timely translations of medical records, diagnoses, and treatment plans
- Interpreting for patients who speak Spanish, ensuring that they fully understand their medical care and treatment options
- Collaborating with healthcare providers, social workers, and other medical staff to ensure that patients receive culturally sensitive care
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations at all times
- Documenting patient interactions and interpreting sessions accurately and thoroughly
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, with a strong proficiency in medical terminology
- Experience in healthcare or social work, preferably in a hospital setting
- Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with patients and medical professionals
- Strong translation skills, with the ability to accurately convey medical information
- Familiarity with medical records and the ability to interpret complex medical information
- Certification in medical interpreting or a related field
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and a strong understanding of the importance of cultural sensitivity in medical settings
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
