Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, focusing on their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role is essential in fostering a love for learning and ensuring that all students receive the attention they need to thrive.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans that promote literacy education and engage children in learning activities.
- Support behavior management strategies to maintain a positive classroom environment.
- Provide individualized attention to students, including those with special needs, autism, or disabilities.
- Facilitate small group activities that encourage social interaction and skill development.
- Help maintain a safe and clean classroom environment, ensuring all materials are organized and accessible.
- Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt lessons as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to Montessori methods and special education practices.
Qualifications
- Experience or training in Montessori education is preferred but not required.
- Strong background in childcare, with knowledge of developmental milestones for young children.
- Familiarity with literacy education techniques and lesson planning.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or autism is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- A genuine passion for educating young children and fostering their growth in a daycare or educational setting.
