What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative — Account & Retention Specialist position at Elite Lawn Care?
Customer Service Representative — Account & Retention Specialist
Elite Lawn Care | Oklahoma City Full-Time · In-Office · $16–$20/hr Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM (occasional weekends) Health & dental insurance · PTO · Paid holidays
The short version
We're hiring a Customer Service Representative to be the friendly, dependable voice our clients count on. This isn't a cold-calling grind and it isn't heads-down data entry in a corner. It's the person who keeps our customers happy, wins over the folks who call in wanting service, answers questions, catches small problems before they become cancellations, and makes sure every account feels taken care of.
If you genuinely like people, take ownership of your work, and feel good when things are organized and accurate, keep reading. This one's built for you.
What you'll actually do all day
Most of your day is about relationships and follow-through:
- Take care of our customers. Answer incoming calls, respond to account questions, and make people feel heard — especially when they're frustrated.
- Turn callers into customers. When someone calls in interested in our services, you're the one who listens, answers their questions, and helps them get started. This is warm, helpful selling — no cold calls, no pressure, just matching people with service they already want.
- Handle call-aheads. Give customers a friendly heads-up before service so they know what to expect and everything goes smoothly for them and our crews.
- Keep good customers with us. Reach out proactively to existing clients, check in on their service, smooth over issues, and turn "I was thinking about canceling" into "actually, I'm glad I stayed."
- Own the follow-up. When something's promised, you make sure it happens. You close loops instead of letting them slip.
- Handle payments and accounts. Process client payments, log and reconcile transactions, and follow up on past-due accounts with a firm-but-friendly touch.
- Keep the details straight. Update our tracking spreadsheets, keep account records accurate, and flag anything that looks off.
- Support the office. Help teammates with scheduling and account questions, keep our files organized, and suggest better ways of doing things when you spot them.
Who thrives here
You'll do really well in this role if you're:
- Warm and people-first. You like talking to people and you stay calm and kind even when a customer is upset. Others would describe you as easy to trust.
- An owner, not a task-taker. You follow through without being reminded. Dropped balls bug you.
- Detail-sharp. You're careful with numbers, money, and records, and you catch the small mistakes other people miss.
- Coachable and growth-minded. You take feedback well, you like to learn, and you want to grow with a company rather than just clock in.
Who this probably isn't for
We'd rather be upfront and save everyone time. This role is likely not a fit if you'd rather not talk to customers all day, if reaching out to people feels draining, or if "close enough" is how you feel about details and deadlines.
What we bring to the table
- A stable, full-time role with a supportive team that actually has your back
- Health and dental insurance, PTO, and paid holidays
- Clear processes and well-organized systems (so you're set up to win, not left guessing)
- Real responsibility from day one, and genuine room to grow as you prove yourself
- A workplace that lives by our core values — D.I.E.T.: Dependability, Integrity, Efficiency, Teamwork
What we'll want to see
- Comfort and confidence on the phone with customers
- Solid attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to juggle time-sensitive tasks without dropping any
- Working knowledge of Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
- A track record of being reliable and trustworthy — the kind of person others count on
Ready to apply?
If you're the person friends call when they need something handled, if you like taking care of people and keeping things running right, we'd love to meet you.
Tell us a little about yourself and why this role caught your eye — we read every application. We'll follow up quickly with anyone who looks like a great fit.
