Duties
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering therapeutic exercises and modalities.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support patient recovery and rehabilitation.
- Conduct trigger point therapy as needed to alleviate pain and improve mobility.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients moving between care settings.
- Work with various patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and those requiring acute care.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and self-care strategies.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to physical therapy practices.
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities or outpatient clinics is preferred.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and patient care protocols.
- Strong understanding of physiotherapy techniques and rehabilitation practices.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including those requiring specialized care such as geriatrics or pediatrics.
