Aging Waiver Medicaid Support -Administrative Assistant -
Location: Jenkintown, Pennsylvania
Position: Full-Time (Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week)
Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant supports the facilitation and administration of the Aging Waiver Medicaid program for home care patients within Pennsylvania. This role is responsible for assisting elderly residents and their families in navigating eligibility, application, and recertification processes for the Aging Waiver, serving as a point of contact between clients, case workers, and health service providers.
Prefer someone with experience with County Assistance Office home care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist seniors and/or their caretakers with the Aging Waiver Medicaid application process, ensuring completion and timely submission of all required documentation.
- Answer inquiries related to Medicaid eligibility, benefits, and program guidelines; provide clear and compassionate guidance in-person, by phone, and via email.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all referrals, applications, and correspondence in compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Schedule and coordinate appointments for home assessments, provider services, and caseworker visits.
- Support caseworkers in tracking client statuses and follow-up requirements.
- Prepare and file correspondence, reports, and case documentation for internal and governmental use.
- Liaise with healthcare agencies and community resources to facilitate client access to necessary services under the waiver.
- Monitor changes in Medicaid (Aging Waiver) regulations and communicate updates to staff and clients as appropriate.
- Perform general administrative office duties such as data entry, document preparation, mail sorting, and supply inventory.
- Provide translation or culturally competent support as needed to ensure equitable access for diverse populations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or relevant coursework in human services, public administration, or related field preferred.
- Prior experience in administrative support, healthcare, case management, or social services strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicaid, Aging Waiver, and/or eldercare services in Pennsylvania is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Sensitivity to the needs of aging or vulnerable populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital record-keeping systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and care.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
