In this position you will have an unpaid internship that will quickly transition into a paid position. Estimated time of internship to paid position is 1 month.
This is an on-site, contract internship role with Elite Football Club, based in Kansas City, KS. As a Coach, you will assist coaching staff in planning and leading training sessions, developing athlete skills, and fostering a positive team culture. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, monitoring player progress, supporting administrative tasks, and communicating effectively with players and their families.
As a Coach, you will work directly alongside experienced coaches and receive mentorship throughout the process. Interns will learn:
- How to plan and run effective training sessions
- Game management and in-game coaching
- Player development and skill progression
- Communication with players, parents, and staff
- Team culture and leadership skills
- How youth soccer clubs operate behind the scenes

Qualifications
- Understanding of football techniques, strategies, and training methods
- Multilingual (preferred not required)
- Strong organizational, time management, and administrative skills
- Effective communication, teamwork, and leadership capabilities
- Passion for mentoring athletes and fostering personal and athletic growth
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds with cultural competence
- Experience in coaching or participating in organized athletics (preferred but not mandatory)
- High school diploma required or near completion; pursuing a degree in sports management, education, or a related field is a plus
- Must be able to pass a background check and have reliable transportation
- Available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday for trainings and games on weekends. Game schedule varies but is given 3 months in advance.
