What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Assistant position at Elite Fire & Automation?
Elite Fire is looking for a new Shop Assistant. The Shop Assistant supports daily shop operations by ordering materials, maintaining shop stock, and receiving, unloading, and checking deliveries. The role includes notifying team members and project managers when materials arrive, organizing the shop, breaking down boxes and placing debris in designated receptacles, and taking out the trash. The Shop Assistant also helps keep the building exterior clean and orderly by removing litter, stacking pallets, and clearing snow or ice as needed. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the ability to operate a forklift, along with performing other related duties as assigned.
The person must posses a valid drivers license and meet company's requirements to be covered as an authorized driver under its vehicle insurance policy. hired must have a valid driver license.
Employment is contingent on successfully completing the company's preemployment drug test. Employees are also subject to testing under the company's drug- and alcohol-testing policy, including periodic testing where permitted and testing when there is reasonable suspicion of prohibited drug or alcohol use.
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
