Security Officer - Unarmed P/T Flex

Elite Defense Security Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and reliable On- Call Professional Security Officer for several of our locations in the East Bay Area cities of Oakley, Brentwood, Antioch and San Ramon. This position is a PART-TIME position and must be available for ON-CALL as well.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients’ premises. This role requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to respond to shifts on short notice, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities:

Surveillance and Monitoring:

• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to ensure the security of the premises.
• Monitor security systems, alarms, and CCTV cameras.
• Respond promptly to alarms and investigate disturbances.

Access Control:

• Verify identification of employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Control access to restricted areas and ensure only authorized personnel enter.
• Issue visitor passes and maintain visitor logs

Incident Response:

• Respond to and manage emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, and security breaches.
• Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security activities.
• Write daily reports and other reporting along with possible pictures of the post.

Customer Service:

• Provide assistance and directions to visitors and employees.
• Handle inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
• Ensure a visible security presence to deter potential threats.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential security risks and safety hazards.
• Participate in training sessions and drills to maintain preparedness for various scenarios.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• Clean Driving Record with no moving violations or accidents in the past 5 years.
• Valid security officer license/certification as required by local laws.
• Previous experience in security or a related field preferred.
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic computer skills for report writing and access control systems.
• Physical fitness to perform patrols and respond to emergencies.
• Vision correctable to 20/20.
• Ability to distinguish between standard colors.
• Capable of hearing ordinary conversation at twenty (20) feet and whispered conversation at ten (10) feet, with each ear (use of hearing aids or other devices is permissible).
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to perform normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to strenuous physical exertions, such as:
• Standing, sitting, or walking for an entire shift.
• Climbing stairs and ladders.
• Lifting or carrying objects weighing up to thirty (30) pounds.
• Able to open and close latches, zippers, doors, fences/gates, and screw caps.
• Running, jogging, or speed walking short distances.
• Reaching above the head.
• Bending to the floor.

Working Conditions:

• The role may require standing or walking for extended periods.
• Exposure to various weather conditions during outdoor patrols.
• Must be available to work on short notice and cover shifts as needed.
