Security Guard

Job Summary

We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Security Guard to uphold safety and security across our premises. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for monitoring the property, managing access control, and ensuring a secure environment for staff, visitors, and assets. Your keen eye for surveillance, quick response skills, and commitment to compliance will help maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to serve as the first line of defense in a fast-paced setting, utilizing your expertise in security protocols and emergency procedures to protect people and property effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the facility using CCTV surveillance systems, access control systems, and physical security measures to detect any suspicious activity or safety hazards.
• Manage entry points by performing background checks, verifying identification, and controlling access for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors.
• Respond promptly to incidents by writing detailed incident reports, managing conflict de-escalation procedures, and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary.
• Operate security equipment such as Taser devices, firearms (where authorized), AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), and perform CPR in emergency situations to ensure immediate response.
• Enforce security regulations by conducting thorough searches, inspecting packages or vehicles during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Assist in emergency response procedures including fire drills, fire extinguisher use, AED operation, and administering first aid or first aid and CPR when required.
• Maintain detailed logs of patrols, incidents, access records, CCTV footage reviews (surveillance), and other security-related documentation to ensure accountability and transparency.

Experience

• Prior experience in security or law enforcement roles is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of surveillance techniques including CCTV operation and monitoring.
• Training or certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, conflict management, and emergency response procedures is advantageous.
• Experience with manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting or physical security measures is desirable.
• Familiarity with security regulations, performing background checks, incident report writing, and access control systems is essential.
• Background in military service or related fields that emphasize discipline and situational awareness will be considered a plus.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
