Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle DME billing, including eligibility, coding, claim submission, payment posting, and collections.
- Apply HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-10 codes for respiratory equipment (oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, vents, nebulizers).
- Manage Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial DME billing with accuracy and compliance.
- Navigate payer rules and escalated denials; handle appeals.
- Identify workflow improvements and assist in building processes as the department grows.
- Collaborate directly with leadership on revenue cycle performance and strategic enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on DME/Respiratory billing experience (not general medical billing).
- Strong expertise with respiratory equipment coding and payer rules.
- Experience with DME billing platforms (Brightree, Fastrack, Medisoft, Kareo).
- Stable work history and strong professional references.
- Detail-oriented, accountable, and comfortable being the key billing expert.
