Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of our fleet of concrete grinding and polishing equipment. Unlike standard lawnmowers or chainsaws, our machines are heavy and utilize high-performance propane engines to power planetary grinding heads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and overhauls on small engines used in floor grinding/polishing equipment, scrubbers, burnishers, and vacuums.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with mechanical, electrical, and basic hydraulic systems.
- Inspect incoming equipment for damage or missing components, issue work orders, and maintain accurate records of repairs and parts usage.
- Maintain a safe and organized workshop environment, adhering to all OSHA and company policies.
- Occasionally assist with loading/unloading equipment and warehouse responsibilities, including receiving and distribution of materials.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a small engine mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot electronic repairs.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics is a plus.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting (machines weigh 500-1000 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
