Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and observe patient conditions, noting changes in health status and reporting to healthcare professionals
- Administer medications and manage care plans in accordance with HIPAA regulations and facility protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, and vital signs monitors safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light cleaning duties and infection control practices
- Support residents with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia through specialized memory care techniques
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and social engagement to promote mental well-being
- Follow safety procedures during patient transfers using appropriate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Document patient progress accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and care plans
Requirements
- Prior experience in senior care, home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice is preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer's care
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, TB, HIPAA compliance training are highly desirable
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is a plus
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; previous experience working in assisted living or long-term care environments is advantageous
- Your own reliable vehicle
- Weekends are mandatory twice a month
- Employees are required to adhere to the mandatory dress code, which consists of scrubs and comfortable footwear
- As this is a professional healthcare environment, reporting to work with the odor of marijuana or any other impairing substance will not be tolerated.
