Role Description This LCAS-MSW role is a contract, on-site position located in Fayetteville, NC. The professional in this role provides direct clinical services, including comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and individual, group, and family counseling for clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and implementing person-centered treatment plans, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting discharge and aftercare planning. The LCAS-MSW documents all services in accordance with agency, state, and payer standards, maintains accurate and timely records, and participates in case reviews and clinical supervision as required. The role also involves collaborating with community partners, providing psychoeducation to clients and families, and promoting a safe, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care environment.
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina LCAS (or LCAS-eligible) and Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program; licensure as an LCSW or LCSW-A preferred or in progress.
- Experience providing clinical services to individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions in a hospital, community mental health, or similar setting.
- Strong skills in assessment, treatment planning, counseling, crisis intervention, and case management, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation, use of electronic health records, and adherence to regulatory, ethical, and confidentiality standards (HIPAA and relevant state regulations).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly with clients and colleagues, and maintain professional boundaries.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for substance use and mental health treatment, such as CBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
- Commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive care, with sensitivity to the needs of individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities.
- CPR/First Aid certification and training in de-escalation or crisis management preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Fayetteville, NC, reliably commute to the facility, and maintain a flexible schedule based on program and client needs.
