- Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, fellowship hall, sanctuary, kitchen, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and furniture.
- Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the campus.
- Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, and entryways.
- Replenish restroom and kitchen supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness before and after church services, meetings, and special events.
- Set up and tear down tables, chairs, and equipment for ministry activities.
- Perform minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, painting, drywall patching, and carpentry.
- Conduct routine inspections of church buildings and grounds.
- Replace light bulbs, air filters, and ceiling tiles as needed.
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of church equipment.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for repairs beyond the scope of the position.
- Monitor building systems and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Maintain sidewalks, parking lots, and building entrances.
- Mow grass, trim shrubs, remove weeds, and maintain landscaping (if applicable).
- Pick up litter and keep exterior areas clean and inviting.
- Assist with seasonal decorating and weather-related preparations.
- Lock and unlock buildings according to church schedules.
- Ensure facilities are secure after services and events.
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines and church safety procedures.
- Report safety hazards, security concerns, or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Assist with emergency response procedures when necessary.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous custodial, janitorial, facilities maintenance, or building maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, or carpentry is highly preferred.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment and common hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be dependable, trustworthy, and maintain confidentiality.
