Job Description:
Elite Ambulance is hiring EMTs and Paramedics in Portage and Hammond, Indiana! We're seeking motivated, compassionate EMS professionals to join our growing team. If you’re ready to make a real difference in the community while working with a modern fleet, supportive management, and flexible scheduling, this is your chance.
This role is ideal for certified EMT-Basics or licensed Paramedics seeking full-time or part-time opportunities in Northwest Indiana. You'll respond to 911 and inter-facility calls, provide high-quality patient care, and represent the Elite standard of excellence in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to both emergency and non-emergency medical calls.
- Perform thorough patient assessments and provide treatment under established EMS protocols.
- Operate ambulances safely and maintain vehicle readiness.
- Accurately complete electronic patient care reports (ePCRs).
- Maintain and stock ambulance equipment and supplies.
- Communicate with healthcare facilities and public safety personnel.
- Participate in mandatory training and continuing education programs.
- Mentor and assist new EMS personnel.
Qualifications:
For EMT-Basic:
- Valid Indiana EMT-B certification.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Valid driver’s license with clean motor vehicle record.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be able to lift 125 lbs with assistance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills. EVOC certification (or willing to obtain).
For Paramedics:
- Indiana Paramedic license.
- ACLS and PALS certifications.
- 1 year of EMS experience preferred.
- Advanced EVOC certification (or willing to obtain).
