Role Summary/Purpose

FORTS Logistics is in search of an experienced full-time Chief Logistics/Operations Officer to run and oversee the day-to-day operations and staff. This position will be pivotal in our continued growth and ability to meet ever-expanding requirements in disaster logistics and response. Primary work will be performed in Coconut Creek, Florida. Candidate should be able to also perform physical labor when required.  Highly proficient in verbal/written communication, a critical thinker and problem solver, and work well with assigned teams to perform and supervise the following functions:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for deploying staff and equipment, such to any disaster, including mobile disaster field hospitals, and base camps, for federal, state, and local agencies to various locations across the nation
• Analyze complex logistical problems, define, provide recommendations, and implements solutions
• Must be able to anticipate future generations of logistical support needs, requirements, and expectations
• Supervises and assign staff as needed for projects, based on complexity and deadlines
• Coordinate with sister companies regarding all product deliveries and training
• Oversee, track and maintain all equipment, supplies and other inventory 
• Perform other duties as necessary

Highly Recommended Qualities and Skills:

 Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent, including military experience.

• 10 years of experience in the field of logistics or disaster operations, including military experience.
• Recent military experience, (Separated 5 Years or Less) including supervisory experience. 
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong leadership and motivational skills
• Good organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel/Connecteam etc.)
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to conduct presentations and training 
• Responsible, self-managed, strong work ethics with excellent character traits
• Collaborate well with other team members.  Strong Team Builder. 

Requirements:

 Recent Military and Logistics experience.

• High School Diploma
• U.S. Citizen or Resident
• Valid Florida Driver’s License and clean driving record to meet insurance requirements
• Ability to travel for delivering new products, up to 7 days at a time, including weekends
• Ability to travel with short notice for disaster response, up to 30 days at a time
• Ability to operate forklifts of different sizes and capacities, both indoor and outdoor
• Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, push, and pull etc. 
• Highly proficient in speaking and reading English
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, snow etc.
