Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation programs aligned with best practices and regulatory standards to optimize patient recovery outcomes.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary clinical team, including, skilled nursing staff, and rehabilitation specialists, ensuring cohesive teamwork and high-quality care delivery.
- Oversee patient care processes, ensuring individualized treatment plans that incorporate physiology and anatomy knowledge while addressing diverse needs such as disabilities or visual impairments.
- Ensure compliance with all rehabilitation regulations, safety protocols—including manual handling and heavy lifting procedures—and accreditation standards.
- Manage operational aspects of the rehabilitation department, including staffing schedules, resource allocation, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Stay current on advancements in rehabilitation medicine and integrate innovative techniques into practice to enhance patient recovery experiences.
Requirements
- Proven experience in rehabilitation medicine within long-term care facilities or rehabilitation centers, demonstrating strong leadership in clinical team management.
- Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and rehabilitation regulations essential for effective program development and compliance oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver patient-centered care while managing complex cases involving disabilities or visual impairments.
- Certifications in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and Basic Life Support (BLS), with additional training in acute care preferred.
- Hands-on experience with physiotherapy techniques, manual handling procedures, and heavy lifting safety protocols.
- Prior experience working within skilled nursing facilities or similar healthcare environments that emphasize rehabilitation services management.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients about their rehabilitation process.
