Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to step into a Charge Nurse role within our Cath Lab Recovery Unit. Position Summary
The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Cath Lab Recovery Unit, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. This role combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, including staff coordination, clinical support, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the clinical leader for the Cath Lab Recovery Unit during assigned shifts
• Coordinate patient flow, assignments, and staffing to ensure optimal care delivery
• Provide direct patient care for pre and post procedural cardiac patients
• Monitor patients recovering from cardiac catheterizations, interventional procedures, and electrophysiology cases
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate care as needed
• Support and mentor nursing staff, acting as a resource for clinical guidance
• Collaborate with physicians, cath lab staff, and other departments to ensure seamless care transitions
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards
• Participate in performance improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
• Active RN license
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of acute care nursing experience required
• Prior Cath Lab, ICU, or Cardiac Stepdown experience strongly preferred
• Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and team leadership abilities
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
Schedule and Environment
• Full time schedule consisting of three 12 hour shifts per week
• Rotating weekends and call may be required depending on department needs
