A growing private healthcare organization in Savannah is looking for an experienced Workers' Compensation Manager to take the lead on a high impact program connecting patient care, employer relationships, and business growth.

This is a leadership role with real ownership. You’ll manage a team of approximately ten coordinators, work closely with an experienced department director, and play a key role in shaping how the program operates and grows.

The Opportunity

You’ll oversee the daily operations of the workers’ compensation department while developing a team, improving processes, supporting complex cases, and building strong relationships across the healthcare and workers’ compensation ecosystem.

You’ll have the autonomy to make decisions, identify opportunities for improvement, and partner directly with leadership on the department’s continued growth.

Strong Leadership

You’ve managed people before and know how to lead a team with different personalities, experience levels, and working styles. You’re comfortable holding people accountable while also developing and mentoring them.

You can confidently communicate with physicians, executives, adjusters, case managers, and employers. You lead by example and understand that strong teams are built through clear expectations, communication, and support.

Workers’ Compensation Expertise

You understand how the workers’ compensation ecosystem works and are familiar with the relationships between providers, employers, adjusters, and case managers.

Experience with Federal, Georgia, and South Carolina workers’ compensation programs is highly valued.

Candidates with backgrounds in workers’ compensation, case management, claims adjusting, legal or paralegal work, occupational health, or healthcare operations are encouraged to apply.

A CWCP credential is a plus.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the day to day operations of the department and oversee approximately nine coordinators
• Establish accountability, consistency, and strong performance across the team
• Lead hiring, onboarding, coaching, and professional development
• Support coordinators with complex cases, IMEs, authorizations, therapy, and surgical orders
• Serve as a key liaison between providers, case managers, adjusters, employers, and other stakeholders
• Educate physicians and clinical teams on workers’ compensation guidelines and processes
• Help remove barriers to care and expedite treatment when appropriate
• Monitor department performance through chart audits, KPIs, and operational reporting
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and patient and employer experience
• Partner with leadership on department strategy and regional growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous management or leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation processes and regulations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of HIPAA
• Medical office and workers’ compensation experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• PowerPoint experience is a plus
• EMR experience required; Athena experience is a plus
• CWCP credential preferred, or willingness to pursue the credential
