What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Executive position at Elios AI?
Account Executive, Federal Civilian
Location: McLean, VA | Type: Full Time | Setup: Hybrid | Experience: 3 to 7 years | Pay: $140K-$170K base commission
About the Role
This is a full-cycle federal civilian sales seat. You own the deal from first conversation through close, and you keep the account relationship after award. You'll carry a defined book of named civilian agencies, hunt net-new logos, expand where we already have footing, and sell at the CISO, CIO, and contracting officer level.
The client is a founder-led cybersecurity and IT infrastructure integrator based in McLean, VA. They aren't a reseller. They own the whole chain: find the need, scope the solution, close it, and deliver it. The federal civilian book is currently cyber-heavy with infrastructure attach growing fast behind a serious Cisco investment, so the person who does well here leads with whichever pillar opens the door and knows how to pull the other one in.
If you've spent time in a VAR or integrator seat and you're tired of being handed pre-baked deals, this one is the opposite. You'll own quote, scope, and margin, and you'll have room to build.
What You'll Do
- Run the full sales cycle for federal civilian accounts, from prospecting through close, with a clean and honest pipeline
- Drive net-new logo acquisition while growing share in existing agency relationships
- Position Palo Alto cyber and Cisco infrastructure at a use-case level, without needing a vendor rep in the room
- Work an agency you haven't sold into before, and figure out the buying motion, the players, and the vehicle
- Partner with engineering and solution architects to build proposals that actually communicate value
- Navigate civilian contract vehicles and procurement requirements, including SEWP and GSA MAS
- Keep leadership current with real forecast and pipeline updates in HubSpot
- Stay on top of civilian procurement policy, agency funding cycles, and Zero Trust mandates
Qualifications
- 3 to 7 years selling into federal civilian markets or in technology VAR/integrator sales, with quota you actually hit
- Able to position both Cisco infrastructure and Palo Alto cyber at a use-case level, not just one pillar
- Familiar with SEWP and GSA MAS, and comfortable working a civilian agency you haven't sold into before
- Prior VAR or integrator experience where you owned the quote, scope, and margin
- Comfortable running a multi-stakeholder cycle across IT, security, and contracting at the same time
Nice to Have
- Named relationships at agencies like IRS, DOE, State, Library of Congress, USAID, DOJ, FBI, or DEA
- Active or adjudicated clearance (this can support a premium above the base band)
- A background translating from a DoD motion into a civilian buying motion
Why Join Us
This is a lean, founder-led shop with real technical credibility and a federal civilian book that is already established, not a cold start. You'll have direct access to leadership, no layers to sell through, and accounts where there's already trust and expanding scope. Three days a week in office is the target, though it's not a hard line, especially when you're out with clients.
If you want to own your accounts and build something instead of maintaining someone else's, this is the seat.
