Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and calculus buildup
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to support comprehensive treatment planning
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) using Dentrix, documenting treatment details and medical information
- Follow infection prevention protocols, including aseptic technique and infection control measures, to ensure a safe clinical environment in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Skills
- Proficiency with Dentrix for documentation and scheduling
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry
- Ability to perform dental x-rays accurately while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards
- Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques
- Excellent communication skills for client education, team collaboration, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
