What You Will Do:

The successful candidate will be willing and able to:

• Assist Resource Center visitors;
• Assist Elica patients in navigating when they encounter difficulties and questions after appointments;
• Working with visitors and patients to inform them about their opportunities (information on social and community programs, as CHDP, EWC, Medi-Cal, EBT, etc.);
• Assisting patients in removing barriers to their information;
• Assisting new immigrants in removing barriers to their information;
• Maintain confidentiality regarding patients’ personal information;
• Attending Outreach events as needed;
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Eligibility: Benefits are available to employees working 30 hours per week, effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Compensation Disclosure: $25.00

The compensation range listed reflects Elica’s good-faith estimate of the anticipated hiring range for this position in accordance with California pay transparency requirements. Final compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, and qualification.

Bilingual candidates (English plus Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Farsi, or Dari) are highly preferred, and while entry-level applicants are welcome, those with prior experience are strongly encouraged to apply.   

Requirements

•  AA degree required and 1 year of related work experience in a primary care office or FQHC preferred
• OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 2 years of related work experience in a primary care office or FQHC
• Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Bilingual in English and one of the following languages: Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Cantonese, Mandarin, Farsi, Pashto, ASL.
• Proficiency including use of email, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Workspace products
• Previous experience with EHR systems, preferably OCHIN EPIC and PointCare systems highly preferred

Additional Requirements

• Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: 

The work environment is characteristic of the healthcare facility environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or lift. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderately loud; incumbent must be able to focus in an environment with many distractions. The employee may be in contact with individuals and families in crisis who may be ill, using substances and/or not attentive to personal health and safety for themselves or their homes. The employee may experience a number of unpleasant sensory demands associated with the client’s use of alcohol and drugs, and the lack of personal care. The employee may also be exposed to bodily fluids (blood, urine) and hazardous chemicals. The employee must be ready to respond quickly and effectively to many types of situations, including crisis situations and potentially hostile situations.
